Kenny Hill Guitars USEDRODRIGUEZ 2005 Master Series Rodriguez with Rosewood and Cedar

Before he began to concentrate his production solely on two of his own models, Kenny Hill and his small team of craftsmen produced a line of guitars called the Master Series - beautiful hand made classical and flamenco guitars based on works of the finest historical guitar makers. We sold them in our store, and, like many of our customers, we were disheartened when Kenny discontinued production of the series.

The following is what Kenny had to say about the Master Series, and the Rodriguez model in particular, when they were the focus of his work: "The designs of old masters such as Hauser, Fleta, Torres, Rodriguez, and others insure results that have been tried and proven by generations of luthiers and concert artists. It is an intriguing challenge to study the details of these instruments, searching for minutia offering clues to methods, reasoning and instincts that produce the unique results from each builder's style.

Miguel Rodriguez and family worked in the city of Cordoba in southern Spain from the early 1900s until the late 1970s. This guitar has a large, romantic Spanish sound, with power and vitality. It has five fan braces and a larger diagonal brace connecting the lower and upper bouts. It has laminated linings for the top and back with a unique reinforcement system for the sound board under the finger board, but it is otherwise a quintessentially Spanish 20th century guitar."

We are excited to have this 2005 Master Series Rodriguez in our shop. The Rodriguez model was always one of our favorites from the Master Series, because its light build weight lends a robust immediacy to its voice. This characteristic produces a superb sound that is both forward and full, making it highly responsive and fun to play. And, in the case of this guitar, one will also enjoy a mature tone marked by clarity that is both rounded and sweet. Additionally, one will enjoy the splendid cosmetic condition of this guitar as it's French polished finish was recently refurbished by Glen Nichols ( glenn-nichols-guitars.com ), who was Kenny Hill's French polish specialist before recently moving back to Massachusetts.

This guitar includes a deluxe TKL double arch hardshell case. (used)
