Fender: 1976 MUSTANG(Item ID: 1976 MUSTANG Serial#: 7616284)
1976 Mustang in Olympic White with Pickup Mod
This sexy little Fender came to us recently in a trade, and it is in very impressive condition for a guitar that is more than 40 years old. The body of the guitar is free of any major dings, dents, or gouges; however, as is typical of heavier finishes of the era, there is some finish crazing on both the back and top (the larger finish cracks/crazes are on the back). As would be true of any guitar we put out for sale, this Mustang has been through our repair shop, where it was thoroughly prepped and setup. The frets have plenty of material and are freshly crowned and polished, and the guitar is extremely comfortable and smooth to play (particularly for anyone with smaller hands!).
Apart from its classy aesthetic treatment of a black pickguard against a white finish, this Mustang also features a maple fingerboard, which is a bit less common in the Mustang family. Like other Mustangs, it does have a 24" scale length, making the overall feel a bit more slinky and forgiving. While this guitar is 100% original and includes its original case, please note that the previous owner did replace the pickups with Curtis Novak Mustang pickups (the fully-functioning originals are also included). For any interested potential buyer, we also happen to have an original Fender catalog for this production year--a vintage collectible in its own right--featuring some pretty far out art based on children's fairy tales--hey, it was the 70's!
