Dreadnought with Adirondack and Mahogany and K&K Pickup with Volume Control

This 1999 D1A was previously owned by a very fine local performer. It has been on many stages, and consequently it has playing and handling wear to show for its many years of professional use. Additionally, the finish on the sides is freckled with flaws in the finish the nature of which gives the appearance that the pore fill may not have been adequate and the finish subsequently did not adequately fill the void that the pore forms, and time has exposed the deficiency - we can't say for sure. In our opinion, this blemished condition is only a secondary, non-structural concern. However, certainly one would wish that it did not exist.

Structurally, this guitar is in excellent shape, and one would assume as much from a Collings because of the superb build quality of their instruments. It has no cracks or repairs, and its playability is splendid. With respect to its sound, the voice of this guitar, like many fine instruments that have been played-in, is full-bodied and sweet with a warm, loose openness that is intrinsically lyrical and musically embracing.

Because of the wear and cosmetic blemishes on this guitar, it just falls into the "player's guitar" category, and it is priced to reflect as much.

This guitar includes a new deluxe Cedar Creek archtop hardshell case. (used)
