The Pineapple has a unique, oval-shaped body and produces a resonant, mellow sound distinct from the traditional figure-eight." This instrument has a custom neck which is longer allowing 14 frets to the body and 18 frets total. The benefits of a longer scale include: more volume due to increased string tension; easier playability due to wider fret displacements; and easier access to the upper positions due to the 14th fret joint with the body.
