Taylor Guitars USED 710E LH 1996 Left Handed Taylor 710E

General Description

Though the company is much larger and well-known today, it could certainly be argued that Taylor truly began to hit their stride in the mid-1990s. During this time, they began to implement some of the technology that enabled them to produce an almost unrivaled standard of construction for larger scale production. Yet, where increased production might translate to less consistent voicing/tone for some manufacturers, Taylor was able to retain and repeatedly produce a signature sound that became increasingly well- established presence in the acoustic guitar market. Moreover, the pricing of their guitars at the time was extremely competitive, relative to comparable offerings from some other big names. For these reasons, many Taylor enthusiasts consider the guitars produced in this era to be among the best and most desirable, as they are about as close as one can come to a “vintage” Taylor.

When this 710E was produced, it was essentially a less-expensive, cosmetically streamlined companion to the more ornate 810. As one would expect from a spruce and rosewood dreadnought, we find a pleasing mixture of brilliance, cut, and dynamic headroom of a spruce top with the color and complexity afforded by the rosewood back and sides. Meanwhile, the dreadnought design imparts depth and body, along with a more elongated note release. All in all, this mixture of tonewoods, body size, and innate Taylor voicing, results in a dreadnought that offers the presence and low end necessary for rhythm applications, but also the clarity and note separation that one would seek in a good fingerstyle guitar. Additionally, it features a Fishman Prefix Plus pickup system that would still hold up for modern live applications.

Cosmetic Description

This guitar was actively used, and has some cosmetic wear to show for it. The great majority of this is concentrated on the top, but there are a handful of minor scuffs, scratches, and dings elsewhere on the body. While the guitar is structurally sound, it does have a repaired top crack with some associated finish touch up near the treble side lower bout. A strap button has also been installed on the neck heel. GOOD+ CONDITION
