CARR hits Maple Street Guitars
June, 2009
We are very excited to announce that Maple Street Guitars will be the new Atlanta dealer for CARR amplifiers, one of the best known and most widely respected companies in the high-end amp market. Carr is well known for low wattage amps like the Mercury, which goes from 8 watts to 1/10 watt. And their more powerful combos and heads, like the Slant 6V, the Rambler, and the Hammerhead all have tone to the bone! If you aren't acquainted with these killers and you aren't afraid of amp lust, come on by and check one out (first delivery approx. 7/6/09).
Martin's new 1-Series
May, 2009
It is always good to see a company make the effort to produce instruments with value in mind. The new 1-Series from Martin is one of the best values we have seen in a while. Unlike the original 1-Series, which is now discontinued, the new 1-Series features an all-solid construction, a satin finish, and a stratabond neck (like that of the X-Series). At the outset, this series will be comprised of four models: an orchestra model, a dreadnought, and cutaway acoustic-electric versions of the same with list prices between $1199 and $1499. After comparing these to the 15-Series and 16-Series guitars, we have to say that the 1-Series guitars are very competitive in sound and are a fantastic value.
