Occasionally classical guitar players find that because of sciatica or back issues it can be uncomfortable to use a traditional guitar footstool, which requires lifting the guitar support leg/foot off of the floor. Oasis guitar support cushions sit on the thigh, raising the guitar body and neck at an angle, eliminating the need for a footstool.
