Mike Dirnt P-Bass c. 2004 w/ G&G Hard Case
If you want understated brilliance and genre defining tone, and are inclined towards the worlds of power pop/punk, Mike Dirnt’s signature P Bass is right up your alley. Aesthetically, one would describe it as a 50’s P Bass hybrid, with the headstock , slab body, and control plate borrowing heavily from the original 1951 P Bass, while the front arm contour, and pickguard shape, and pickups themselves are more akin to their 1955 brethren. Sonically its driven by its simple P-Bass style pickup that will give you all the punch and roundness that has made the P-Bass a no brainer for players since its inception in 1951.
This particular signature has a tight, punchy voice with present mids that would be appropriate for anchoring a rock band with deep resonant lows, but still slice through a mix with its noticeable mids and highs, providing excellent separation and articulation.
Cosmetic Condition:
This particular bass is very clean with only a couple minor points of contention. Those being a small amount of finish delaminating around the pickup, as well as some pickguard warping. In light of the above, we would consider the instrument to be in EXCELLENT CONDITION.
