For us, one consistent and outstanding characteristic of the Eastman archtop hollowbody guitars is their exceptional unamplified sound. Likewise, guitars from the Eastman Thinline series have an uncommonly full voice made possible by unique design features which enhance the acoustic properties of their sound. First of all, they are made from hand carved solid woods, not laminated wood. And, in order to support their pickups and bridge assembly, the tops are carved thicker in the area under the pickups, while the stop tail piece and bridge are supported only by a small interior mahogany block. This design provides strength with minimum damping and maximizes cavity displacement both of which provide for more resonance potential. Thus, their natural sound is imbued with tonal properties more characteristic of their full-bodied cousins, 16” Thinline Body.

Cosmetic Condition:

This guitar has been maintained quite well by its previous owner, with the some cosmetic blemishes to show for its years of service.  There are shallow dings on the top and back, as well as pick scratching/swirling on top below neck pickup, consistent with light playwear.  As such, we would consider this guitar to be in VERY GOOD+ to EXCELLENT CONDITION.
