The Gretsch White Penguin is a unique bird, indeed.  One might view it as a White Falcon in the body of a Duo Jet, and while that comes close to an apt description, the White Penguin is greater than the sum of its parts. 

If you want a guitar with “vibes”, this is it.  Exuding all the classic automobile derived affectations vintage Gretsches are known for, this instrument is a true eye catcher.  The tasteful white gloss finish is accented by gold sparkle binding, gold hardware (including a banjo armrest) Grover Imperial tuners, and beautifully engraved feather motif hump block inlays. From a playability standpoint, the Gloss finish, and “U” shaped neck profile  work synergistically with the ebony fingerboard to give one a very fast playing, great feeling neck. 

While the various appointments may make one think this guitar could only toil in the musical vineyards of country or rockabilly, they would be mistaken.  The dual Dynasonic pickups, while very well suited to cleaner tones, handle breakup remarkably well, and when pushed impart a mid frequency forward crunch somewhat reminiscent of late 70s rock and roll.  In short, this is a guitar that sounds as cool as it looks.

Cosmetic Condition:

This particular guitar has been so lovingly cared for that there are practically no signs of playwear.  In fact, one might be challenged to believe it did not just roll off the factory floor.  As such, we would consider this to be in EXCELLENT+ Condition.
