A CORONAVIRUS UPDATE
Dear friends and customers,
In response to these most disconcerting times and the global concern surrounding the Coronavirus, we wanted to bring everyone up to speed with the situation as it stands here at Maple Street Guitars. First off, we are currently maintaining our normal business hours for lessons, sales, and repairs. We are, however, taking all possible precautions to ensure a safe environment! Any employee or teacher who has traveled recently has been asked to remain home for at least two weeks or until they are obviously clear of any potential symptoms. We are also taking measures throughout the day to further sanitize the building by wiping down common surfaces with alcohol/Lysol wipes (door handles, light switches, bathroom fixtures, etc.). We are likewise requesting that all customers thoroughly wash and/or sanitize their hands before handling instruments—instruments are also being wiped down more so than ever afterwards. And, of course, everyone on the staff is remaining vigilant in following the hygiene advice of experts.
In an effort to continue serving everyone’s needs, we will now offer curbside pickup for any purchases or completed repairs. Should you not wish to enter the store, we welcome you to give us a call to pay over the phone and we will bring the purchase out to your car.
Most of our teachers are still operating as usual, but some are currently operating remotely using Zoom, Facetime, or Skype. We encourage all students to reach out to their respective teacher to coordinate their lessons, whether you intend to come to the store or switch over to remote lessons for the time being. On this note, if you are not presently a student and are feeling some acute cabin fever, now is a great time to give some virtual lessons a try! You can find our teacher’s contact information on their respective links on our website; but, as always, you are welcome to give us a call at the store and we’ll be happy to get one of our instructors in touch with you.
On a final note, we certainly wish everyone continued health and safety; and, to recycle the old British WWII slogan, we also encourage everyone to keep calm and carry on. There is certainly plenty of cause for concern, but we remain confident that we will all persevere through our collective caution and cooperation! In the meantime, remember that music has the power to unite, heal, and, at very least, entertain us, even when we can’t commune with one another in conventional ways. So, whenever you find yourself stressed or anxious, try spending a little time with your trusty instrument—take it from us, it will help!
