John - The Martin Custom Major Kealakai K1. This is my all-time favorite Martin guitar. Originally designed in 1915, it became the precursor to the modern dreadnought. It’s a deep body 12-fret with the coolest sound and vibe ever.

Chris - X-Men ‘97 - Taking a departure from my usual music picks, this show has had my wife and I obsessed. Equal parts nostalgia for the original animated series from 1992, admiration for the comic books from the late-70s to early 2000s, and savvy criticism of issues that have plagued society for decades, this show is way better than it has any right to be and once again proves my theory that many superhero properties are essentially “American Mythology.”

Mike - “Global a Go-Go” by Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros.  What an apt title for an album as musically diverse as this. Joe hadn’t lost a step either when it comes to wordsmithing. From anthems concerning worker’s rights (Johnny Appleseed) to the rapid fire rattling off phonetic food based tongue twisters (Bhindi Bhagee) the master takes you to school all over again with a voice that would make reading the phone book compelling. To my mind this record is every bit as good as Strummer’s output with The Clash and a perfectly fitting swan song for the conscience of punk rock. 

Mark - Vega Trem is a Spanish company that makes drop-in tremolo(vibrato) systems for Strat and Tele style guitars.  They are very high quality, non-locking units that stay in tune as well-or better than the leading locking model.  The feel is extraordinary, with absolutely no play or sluggishness.  I have one installed on a “parts” Strat I assembled.  You sort of have to adjust for the heightened sensitivity, but once you do, there’s no going back.  I can't help but wonder what Jimi could have done with one of these!  We do not currently sell them here at MSG, but you never know…
