Chris - The Beaches - A friend introduced me to this hip, all-female band out of Toronto and I haven’t been able to escape their brand of catchy alt-rock ever since. “Edge of the Earth,” “Takes One to Know One,” and “Blame Brett” have been playing on repeat and I might have to make my way to their show at The Masquerade when they come to town in October.

Mike - James Hunter Six - Nick of Time.  For lovers of 60s rhythm and blues/soul, this 2020 offering by Mr. Hunter and Co will get your toe tapping, your blood moving, and is guaranteed to improve your day.

Lindsay - Chris Isaak - Baja Sessions - This is an album that continues to resonate with me, and therefore blips on my radar with a fair degree of regularity.  Of course, Chris Isaak is easy to admire as one of those enviable crooners who not only has a great voice with an incredible range, but who is also blessed with good musical taste, better looks, and a perfectly coiffed pompadour.  Fandom aside, this album is masterfully produced—the song sequencing is fluid, the arrangements and instrumentation create depth while leaving plenty of space, and the performances are both powerful and interesting without being overly flashy.  While I certainly tip my hat to Chris Isaak, it is impossible for me to listen to this album as a guitarist without being wowed by the outstanding guitar work of Hershel Yatovitz—the more you listen to his parts, the more brilliant they seem to become!
